If you are looking for Misionera or Danza Brasilera, both pieces are in “The Very Best of Jorge Morel” above.
Performance notes on Misionera:
1 – For the first section following the short intro, practice it really slow with an eye towards bringing out the melody and bringing down the accompaniment. Use a metronome as well. When you are able to keep the melody line separate from the bass line work on establishing movement in both. You can even have them moving in different directions.
2 – For the second section (I’ll add measure numbers later), find a comfortable fingering and then concentrate on (you guessed it) bringing out the melody line. I had a lot of trouble with the chords for some reason. Once you get the chord changes smooth, add in the rasgueado.
3 – Section three is the tremolo section, see my thoughts on tremolo here
4 – from there the second section repeats and we head to the ending. Spend plenty of time working out the ending. The tendency on any piece is to spend the majority of your time on the beginning. The ending of Misionera is the grande finale of the fireworks so milk it good.
